Art Commission pricing guide |For Traditional and Digital artist
Many artists face a common problem ‘how to price their art Commission’.
I also faced this same problem in my earlier artist career. But now I am doing great in my artist life.
I will share the tips that helped me solve my problem.
What is Commission work?
In my opinion, Commission work means the work you are doing for money on demand of your customers. You can also call it freelancer work.
1. Minimum wage in your area
Firstly you have to consider minimum wage in your area. If your area minimum wage is 17$ per hour then you have to charge more than 17$ per hour for an art Commission work.
2. Which tier you are on
There are three tears are available :
Good – Better – Best
If your art skill is on a good tier you can charge a normal amount of money.
If your art skill is on a better tier you can charge 30% more than a good tier.
At last, If your art skill is on the best tier you can charge 2× amount of the good tier.
I’m only at on better tier. So I charge 25 dollar per hour.
If you don’t know which tier you are. You can also ask other experience person or your mentor about it.
You can show them your art work and tell them that they will decide which tier you are on.
3. Traditional and Digital artist
If you are making the art digitally you can set the price according to your tier.
But If you are making the art on traditional way you have to add the price of colors and paper you are using on your art Commission work price.
Also the dropshipping prize.
